New Delhi: Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal launched India’s first virtual school-Delhi Model Virtual School, affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education on Wednesday for students unable to take physical classes.

“Today, we are starting India’s first virtual school-Delhi Model Virtual School, affiliated with the Delhi Board of School Education. We’re inviting admission applications for Class 9 from today. Students from all over the country can apply for admission,” Delhi CM said.

“Delhi has taken many revolutionary steps in the field of education. On one hand, the infrastructure in schools was improved, and so was the quality of delivery of education; several new aspects were also introduced in the school curriculum – like entrepreneurship classes.”

“We are also starting a new special school for children seen seeking alms at traffic lights. Among other special initiatives, skill universities are also there,” he further said.

The virtual school announcement is made for the students who cannot go to school due to issues like the school being far away or other obstacles and restrictions, with Kejriwal’s aim to offer education to children who beg on roads, kids from far off villages who do not have a proper school, girls from socially underprivileged backgrounds who are not allowed to take admission to a school outside their neighborhood.
