New Delhi: The national capital woke up to instances of heavy rainfall and waterlogging in several parts of the Delhi NCR regions on Sunday.
According to reports, waterlogging was reported in parts of Anand Vihar, INA market, Najafgarh, and Mahipalpur.
Mahesh Palawat, Vice president of Meteorology and climate change at Skymet Weather took to Twitter and said “74 mm 24-hour rain over Delhi’s Safdarjung is highest during last decade.”
He further added that the rain is likely to continue for the next two days in different parts. IMD predicted light to moderate spells over Loni Dehat, Hindon AF Station, Ghaziabad, Indirapuram, Chhapraula, Noida, Dadri, Greater Noida, Gurugram, Faridabad, Manesar, Ballabhgarh) Sonipat, Kharkhoda, Matanhail, Jhajjar.
IMD further predicted that the intensity of rainfall is likely to reduce over the next 24 hours. The regional weather department further added instances of light spells of rain accompanied by thunderstorms for the next two days.
