Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal attended the Ramleela event at Red Fort on October 5, 2022. President Droupadi Murmu and Bahubali star Prabhas were also invited to the event. The former couldn’t attend the ceremony, so Kejriwal was accompanied by Prabhas at the programme.
Against this backdrop, a viral photograph showing the Delhi CM holding the bow and arrow in the reverse direction, pointing himself is doing the rounds on social media.
A Facebook user posted the viral image with a caption: देश का दुर्भाग्य है कि तीर चला नहीं वरना देश का कल्याण भी हो जाता और लवणासुर अपनी मौत का खुद जिम्मेदार होता। (English translation: It is misfortune of the country that the arrow did not shoot or else The welfare of the country would also have happened and Lavanasura would have his own He himself was responsible for the death.)

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral image, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search, we found a news article, titled: Delhi CM Kejriwal, actor Prabhas attend Ramlila at Red Fort, on the website of The Indian Express, dated October 6, 2022. The article has shown the similar image but with the bow and arrow in the correct form, as opposed to the viral claims.
Also, a tweet published on October 5, 2022, on the official Twitter handle of the Delhi CM, shows few snippets from the programme. Kejriwal can be seen taking blessings from the deities, and then at 1:48, he is seen shooting an arrow at Ravan’s effigy.
He is seen holding the bow and arrow in the correct order and successfully shooting the arrow towards the effigy.
A live-stream YouTube video, dated October 5, 2022, titled: Vijayadashami 2022 | Arvind Kejriwal ने Delhi वालों के साथ मनाया सत्य की जीत का महापर्व Dussehra — published on the official channel of Aam Aadmi Party, has covered the entire event. At 44:00 we can see Kejriwal receiving the bow and arrow and then shooting it. Here too, he held them in the correct order and shot the arrow straight towards Ravan.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral image — showing Arvind Kejriwal holding the bow and arrow in the reverse direction — is morphed, and the claims are false.
