Foreign Secretary Vinay Mohan Kwatra Given An Extension Till April 2024

New Delhi: Centre on Monday approved the extension of Vinay Mohan Kwatra as Foreign Secretary upto 30th April 2024.

According to a notice issued by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, the extension has been made ahead of his superannuation which was scheduled for the end of next month.

The extension has been made for the public interest as per the provisions of Fundamental Rule 56 (d).

Kwatra is a 1988 batch IFS officer who has served the country as a diplomat for over 32 years. He was appointed as India’s 34th Foreign Secretary on April 4, 2022.
