FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be misleading.

Performing a Reverse Image Search, we traced a news report carrying the same viral video on June 30, 2020.

The article reads: “A thug has been filmed kicking a dancer and sending her flying across the room, because he reportedly thought she was dancing in a “disgraceful way”. The horrifying attack was caught on camera when the dancer performed a traditional routine in Pakistan.”

The same video was also carried by a Russian state-affiliated media Twitter account on June 28, 2020, with the text, “Unprovoked Attack | Pakistani girl gets kicked while dancing”.

The same incident was reported by several other news organisations in June 2020. Check here, here and here. According to one of the reports published on July 1, 2020, the incident took place in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region in Pakistan.

In conclusion, we can say that it is an old video from Pakistan, and falsely shared as a man in Uttar Pradesh brutally kicking a dancer.
