CCTV Shows Delhi Woman Was With Friend On Scooty Before Being Dragged By Car

New Delhi: The incident of a 20-year-old woman being dragged for 13 km struck by a car in the new year left the national capital in shock. In a major development the Delhi Police while tracing the route through which Anjali was dragged by the killer car driver, found that she was not alone on the scooty when the incident took place.

Another girl was also present with her when the scooty was hit by the car and later fled after sustaining minor injuries.

“When we traced the route of the deceased, it was found that she wasn’t alone on her scooty. A girl was with her at the time of the accident. She suffered injuries and fled from the spot but the deceased’s legs got stuck in the car, after which she was dragged,” said Delhi Police.

  • According to the police, the investigation into the case using route mapping, CCTV footage and talking with locals revealed that there was another woman on the scooty with Anjali when the accident took place.

  • Accused were identified as Manoj Mittal, Amit Khanna, Deepak Khanna, Krishan and Mithun.
  • The court granted the police custody after hearing the submissions of the Delhi police.
  • The accused were produced in a closed courtroom amid tight security, the case is registered under sections 279/304A/304/34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
  • The accused are to be interrogated and confronted by each other to investigate the case.
  • Ministry of Home Affairs has sought a detailed report on Monday from Delhi Police Commissioner on the incident, according to newswire ANI sources.

  • Information about the incident was received at PS Kanjhawala (Rohini District) on Sunday at about 03:24 am, according to the police.
  • Another PCR call was received at PS Kanjhawala at about 4:11 am, about the body of a girl lying on the road.
  • The dead body of the deceased was sent to SGM, Hospital, Mangolpuri wherein the doctor declared the patient brought dead.
  • Immediately, the car involved in the case and the occupants at the time of the incidents were traced and apprehended. During the interrogation, it was revealed that the car they were driving had met an accident with a scooty in the area of Sultanpuri.
