Air India Urination Row: Delhi Court Sends Shankar Mishra To 14-Day Judicial Custody

New Delhi: Shankar Mishra, the man who allegedly urinated on an Air India flight was sent to 14-day judicial custody by Delhi’s Patiala High Court, hours after being arrested by Delhi Police.

He was produced by Delhi Police who sought custody of the man involved in the case. However, the court refused the request.

The next date of the hearing in the case has been set on January 11 as he moves a bail plea. According to reports, after the arrest, Shankar Mishra was taken to the Safdarjung Hospital for a Medical examination. He is allegedly accused of urinating on an elderly woman on an Air India flight in a drunk state.

Advocate Manu Sharma appearing for Shankar Mishra submitted that in the FIR only one non-bailable offense is mentioned, others are bailable offenses.

Metropolitan Magistrate Anamika recorded the submission made by Police that Shankar Mishra has been non-cooperative.

It further recorded that the same court issued a non-bailable warrant against him.

The court further noted that “Accused Shankar Mishra’s mobile phone was traced and he was located in Bengaluru. He could not even be traced at his workplace. The entire material points out that he was deliberately not joining the probe,”.
