Only Pak General Who Tried To Address Kashmir Issue: Mehbooba Mufti On Pervez Musharraf’s Death

Date:

Srinagar: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and PDP president Mehbooba Mufti on Sunday expressed condolence on the death of Pakistan’s former President Pervez Musharraf and said that he was the “only Pakistani General who genuinely tried to address the Kashmir issue”.

Mehbooba Mufti took to Twitter and added “Deepest condolences. Perhaps the only Pakistani General who genuinely tried to address the Kashmir issue.”

She further added that “He wanted a solution according to wishes of people of J&K & acceptable to India & Pak. Though GOI has reversed all CBMs initiated by him & Vajpayee ji, the ceasefire remains.”

Pervez Musharraf passed away after going through a prolonged illness in a hospital in Dubai at the age of 79.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor took to Twitter and added “Pervez Musharraf, Former Pakistani President, Dies of Rare Disease”: once an implacable foe of India, he became a real force for peace 2002-2007. I met him annually in those days at the UN & found him smart, engaging & clear in his strategic thinking. RIP.”
