IIT Bombay Student Dies By Suicide; Probe Underway

Mumbai: An 18-year-old student of IIT Bombay reportedly died after he jumped from his hostel’s seventh floor on the institute’s campus.

According to reports, the police did not recover any suicide note and have further filed an FIR in connection with the case.

The police further added that Darshan Solanki, BTech student, from Ahmedabad. – is this the deceased student? If yes, mention that

Director Subhasis Chaudhuri, IIT Bombay, Director, in a note added that “We regret to inform the loss of a first-year student in a tragic incident this afternoon. Powai police are investigating the case.”

He further added that “The parents of the student have been informed and they are on their way. We deeply mourn the death of the student and pray that the family gets the strength to bear this loss. May his soul rest in peace.”
