A Facebook user posted the viral post with a caption: कहीं ये सपना तो नहीं? MODI-UDDIN? भक्तों का क्या होगा जो इनको हिन्दू हृदय सम्राट कहते है (English translation: Is this not a dream? Modi-Uddin? What will happen to the devotees who call him Hindu Hriday Samrat)

Running a Reverse Image Search of the viral picture, we identified a tweet on the official Twitter handle of Prime Minister Modi, dated February 10, 2023.
One of the pictures posted by Modi matches the viral photo, except for the skull cap, and the caption informs that the pictures are from the inauguration ceremony of the new campus of Dawoodi Bohra community’s Arabic Academy in Mumbai.
The same images have been published on Modi’s official Facebook page as well. Here, too, we could not see any skull cap on Modi’s head.
The official website of The Dawoodi Bohras — a Muslim community in India guided by their leader known as the al-dai al-mutlaq (unrestricted missionary) — carries an article with a title: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Inaugurates the Dawoodi Bohra community’s Arabic Academy in Mumbai, informs that Modi visited the Academy with Maharashtra CM, Eknath Shinde and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and was welcomed at the event by His Holiness Syedna Mufaddal Saifuddin.
Also, we found a YouTube video showing the glimpses from the inauguration ceremony. Here too, we could not find any frame where Modi was wearing a skull cap.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post’s claim on Modi skullcap is edited and misleading.
