In Pics: PM Modi Visits New Parliament Building, Inspects Work

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a surprise visit to the new parliament building on Thursday.

PM Modi during his surprise visit inspected the work and interacted with the workers and the officials. He was accompanied by Lok Sabha speaker Om Birla.

According to sources, PM Modi spent more than an hour in the premises to review the construction work of the parliament complex.

PM Modi led the foundation of the ambitious project in 2020. PM Modi during the event said that 21st century India needs a new parliament complex and the new complex will fulfill the ‘aspirations of the country’ in future.

The 64,500 square meter mega structure is part of the ₹20,000 crore Central Vista project. According to reports, the estimated cost of the project is ₹971 crore. The new parliament complex will have the capacity to host over 1,200 MPs.
