COVID Update: India Logs 7,830 New Cases As Active Caseload Tally Breaches 40,000 Mark

New Delhi: India on Wednesday reported a significant spike in the number of Covid-related cases with 7.830 new infections in the last 24 hours, breaching the 40,000 mark in active caseload.

According to the Union Health Ministry data, the active caseload in the country stands at 40,215 cases. The report further added that 4,692 recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the total recoveries to 4,42,04,771.

The daily positivity rate stands at 3.65 per cent. A total of 16 new fatalities were reported in the past 24 hours.

A major jump with close to similar figures was reported on September 1 last year with a single day jump of 7,946 Covid-19 cases.
