The video of a man throwing goats out of a moving truck is widely shared on social media, claiming that the incident took place on the Kanpur-Unnao highway in Uttar Pradesh.

The post reads: कानपुर उन्नाव हाइवे पे ट्रक से बकरे चोरी करने वाला गिरोह जो लग्जरी कार से चोरी कर रहा… वीडियो गौर से देखिए. (English translation: The gang stealing goats from a truck on Kanpur-Unnao highway, who are stealing from luxury car…Watch the video carefully)

NewsMobile fact-checked the video, and found it to be misleading.

On watching the video carefully, we found a sign-board that reads Aurangabad, Sinnar and  Ghoti. And all these places are in Maharashtra.

We also found multiple reports stating that the incident took place in Maharashtra. A report by Times Now mentioned that the video was taken at the Igatpuri-Ghoti Highway in Maharashtra. News 18 and Firstpost also published similar reports.

A tweet by the official account of Unnao Police clarifies that the video is from Maharashtra, not Uttar Pradesh.

Hence, it is clear that the video is not from UP, but Maharashtra.
