“It Should Be Done Live”: Wrestlers Accept WFI Chief’s Dare

Date:

New Delhi: India’s prominent wrestlers who are protesting against Wrestling Federation of India president and BJP leader, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, has accepted Singh’s polygraph test challenge.

This comes a day after Singh dared the wrestlers saying that he would undergo a narco test, polygraph test, or lie detector test, but with one condition: that Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia, another prominent wrestler involved in the protest, should also undergo these tests alongside him.

“I would like to tell Brij Bhushan that not only Vinesh but all the girls who have given the complaint are ready to undergo the narcotics test. It should be done live, so that the entire country knows about his cruelty to the daughters of the country,” Vinesh Phogat said at a press conference on Monday.

“He (Brij Bhushan Singh) asked only for the two of us to take the narcotics test. All seven complainants will also take the test. We are ready,” Bajrang Punia

The WFI chief on Sunday dared the wrestlers to take a narco test with him; he said in a statement, “I am ready for a narco test, polygraph test, or lie detector test if the same test of wrestlers Vinesh Phogat and Bajrang Punia is also conducted along with his test.”

Earlier, the WFI chief had denied the allegations against him, saying they were completely baseless. Singh also accused the wrestlers of framing him.

The wrestlers have been protesting at the Jantar Mantar against the Wrestling Federation of India president, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, demanding his arrest in the alleged sexual harassment charges against several female athletes, including some minors.
