These Are The Hottest Cities In India; Jhansi Records Maximum Temperature At 46.5°C

New Delhi: India has been witnessing a series of heatwaves this summer with many states and cities recording temperatures well above normal.

India Meteorological Department (IMD) has been issuing alerts for many cities across India.

IMD on Monday shared a list of places across India that recorded maximum temperatures, with the maximum being 46.5°C. These temperatures were recorded at 5:30 PM on May 22.

The list below shows the places which recorded these temperatures.

Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh state recorded the highest temperature of 46.5 degrees Celsius.

Churu in the desert region of Rajasthan was 2nd on the list with max temperature recorded upto 45.7 degrees Celsius.

Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh was 3rd on the list with max temperature recorded up to 45.4 degree Celsius.
