Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party leader Ajit Pawar takes oath as Deputy CM of Maharashtra and joins Eknath Shinde-led Maharashtra government on Sunday.
9 more MLAs including Chhagan Bhujbal, Dilip Walse Patil, took oath as Maharashtra Ministers after Ajit Pawar.
The oath-taking ceremony was held in Raj Bhawan in the presence of Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis, and several NCP members are there.
Ajit Pawar will share the post with Devendra Fadnavis.
The move comes days after Ajit Pawar expressed his desire to step down as Leader of Opposition in the Maharashtra Assembly.
Earlier, a group of NCP legislators met at Ajit Pawar’s Mumbai residence, where the party’s working president Supriya Sule and senior leader Chhagan Bhujbal were also in attendance.
