Mumbai: In a recent vlog released by Bollywood star Alia Bhatt on her YouTube channel, she gave fans a glimpse behind the scenes of the song “Tum Kya Mile” from the upcoming film “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahani.” However, what grabbed attention was Alia’s dedication as she braved the freezing temperatures of Kashmir while donning delicate chiffon sarees. This prompted director Karan Johar to apologize for subjecting her to the cold conditions, while co-star Ranveer Singh comfortably sported a warm puffer jacket.
Alia Bhatt shared a captivating vlog documenting her experience shooting the romantic song “Tum Kya Mile” in the picturesque landscapes of Kashmir. The seven-minute video offered an intimate look into Alia’s journey, from her makeup sessions to the preparation for the scene set amidst the snow-capped regions. Notably, the vlog featured a surprise appearance by director Karan Johar, who expressed regret for his decision to have Alia wear chiffon sarees in the freezing weather.
During a car ride scene captured in the vlog, Alia and Karan engaged in a conversation after concluding the song shoot. They playfully discussed their favourite sarees from the song, with Karan selecting the vibrant multicoloured ‘kulfi’ saree and the graceful lilac-green one. Meanwhile, Alia’s choices included an elegant lilac-green saree and a striking black one. In the midst of their conversation, Alia lightheartedly mentioned the challenges she faced while shooting in the black saree, as Ranveer’s puffer jacket kept interfering with her shots. Recognizing the inequity of the situation, Karan apologised to Alia, stating, “Note to be made. Ranveer was in a puffer jacket; she was in a chiffon saree. I am really sorry. This sounds unfair. But, like Alia, is there romance in a puffer jacket? There is so much romance in a beautiful saree!”
During their banter, Karan openly acknowledged his oversight, exclaiming, “Oh my God, yeah! I may have tortured you. I am sorry. I am sorry.” Alia laughed it off and assured him with a playful “No.”
“Tum Kya Mile” showcases Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in a captivating love story set against the breathtaking backdrop of Kashmir. Alia gracefully adorns chiffon sarees, while Ranveer dazzles in his stylish outfits throughout the song. Prior to the vlog’s release, Karan had already taken to Instagram to express his apology to Alia, mentioning, “This is also the first shoot Alia did after the birth of her angel, and I remain apologetic for freezing her in Manish Malhotra chiffons. In sympathy, I fell drastically ill during the shoot (a karmic punishment perhaps). Ranveer was nervous as this was his first lip-sync mountain love song, but he was a true trooper.”
