A momentous event unfolded as the Chandrayaan-3 mission embarked on its journey towards the moon. The GSLV Mark 3 (LVM 3) heavy-lift launch vehicle successfully propelled the spacecraft from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh, adhering to the meticulously planned launch schedule.
The spacecraft will travel the huge distance from Earth to the moon over the course of about a month, with an anticipated landing date of August 23. Chandrayaan-3 will be in operation for one lunar day, or about 14 Earth days, once it reaches the lunar surface.
