New Delhi: As the Monsoon Session is all set to being on Thursday as many as 31 bills are likely to be tabled.
One of the key topics for discussion will be the Delhi services ordinance. The Centre has included the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill among the 31 proposals to be addressed during the 17 sittings scheduled until August 11, when the session concludes.
Expectations are high that this monsoon session will be marked by intense debates, as the BJP and opposition parties are likely to exchange heated criticisms. With various assembly polls scheduled for this year and the looming Lok Sabha elections next year, the political climate is likely to be charged. Besides the Manipur crisis and the ordinance concerning control of services in Delhi, other crucial issues up for discussion include inflation and allegations of investigative agency misuse.
