New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister, Bhupendra Patel, inaugurated the ‘SemiconIndia Exhibition’ in Gandhinagar which focuses on semiconductors on Tuesday. Rajeev Chandrashkhar, MoS for Electronics and IT, was also present at the event.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Semicon India 2023 conference on Friday in presence of Union ministers like Ashwini Vaishnaw, Rajeev Chandrasekhar, and S. Jaishankar.
The Semicon India 2023 emphasises on innovation, active participation, and fostering growth holds profound importance in shaping the trajectory of the semiconductor industry not just in India but also in the state of Gujarat.
“With a strong focus on innovation, participation, and growth, this event holds immense significance in shaping the future of the semiconductor industry in both India and Gujarat,” Gujarat government said in a statement.
Semicon India 2023 will host representatives from 23 countries, and Indian states, including Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, will display their support for the semiconductor industry. Renowned academic institutions like IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, BITS Pilani, Ganpat University, and Nirma University will also highlight their role in driving India’s semiconductor advancements.
Semiconductor chip design experts like Micron, AMD, IBM, Marvell, Vedanta, LAM Research, NXP Semiconductors, STMicroelectronics, Grantwood Technologies, Infineon Technologies, and Applied Materials.
Earlier during PM Modi’s visit to the United States of America, President Joe Biden announced the establishment of a state-of-the-art semiconductor assembly, testing, marking, and packaging facility in India.
Micron Technology and the Gujarat Government also signed a Memorandum of Understanding to establish an ATMP facility in Gujarat valued at Rs 22,500 crore.
