FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be FALSE.
Conducting a Reverse Image Search of the viral video keyframes, our team traced a report by the Arabic edition of Russia’s state-media outlet RT, dated July 3, 2023, mentioning that the clip depicted the mass escape of illegal immigrants during their deportation in Algeria.
Searching further, we found the same uploaded by several social media users stating that the incident happened in Algeria.
The same video had been also uploaded on the official Facebook page of Al Jazeera – Tunisia, dated July 2, 2023, with a caption: “A video documenting the escape of a group of sub-Saharan immigrants during their deportation from Algeria.”
According to several Arabic media reports about the incident, the bus was carrying people back to countries in the Sahel and Sahara regions of Africa. The immigrants broke a window, jumped out of the moving bus, and fled to areas close to the road. As a result, traffic on the east-west highway, also known as the A1 Highway, in Algeria came to a halt
Thus, it is evident from the above information that a video showing immigrants jumping out of a moving bus is from Algeria, NOT Germany.
