ICC World Cup 2023: India vs Pakistan Match Shifted To October 14

New Delhi: Much awaited Indi vs Pakistan match at the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 has changed schedule, The clash between the cricketing heavyweights will now take place on October 14, instead of the initially planned schedule on October 15, as reported by ESPNCricinfo.

The rescheduling of tournament’s biggest fixtures will impact Pakistan’s other games against Sri Lanka, the match which was originally scheduled to be played on October 12 will be played on October 10 instead.

The rescheduling will also have an effect on other teams’ matches which were scheduled to take place on October 14, Bangladesh vs New Zealand and Afghanistan vs England is likely to be played on October 14.

The India-Pakistan match needed rescheduling as it coincided with the start of the Hindu festival “Navaratri,” the ICC wrote to the Pakistan Cricket Board about the change proposed citing security reasons to which the latter agreed.

However, BCCI secretary Jay Shah clarified that the schedule change was not due to the “Navaratri” clash but in response to pleas from ICC members.

The schedule has been adjusted just two months before the ICC World Cup begins on October 5. The opening game will be played between England and New Zealand in Ahmedabad. There is no information on ticket sales as of yet. Fans are eagerly awaiting the ticket sale as excitement builds for this exciting tournament.
