New Delhi: Amidst the ongoing persistent heavy rainfall in the north-eastern state, Uttarakhand State Disaster Management on Monday announced a temporary suspension of the ongoing Char Dham Yatra until Tuesday.
The yatra has been temporarily stopped to ensure the safety of the pilgrims, officials said.
The Uttarakhand State Disaster Management Authority, in its order, said, “Char Dham Yatra stopped temporarily on the 14th and 15th August following disruption in the movement of traffic due to landslides after heavy rainfall in Uttarakhand.”
The doors of the Kedarnath Dham were opened on April 25, while Badrinath Dham was made open for pilgrims on April 27.
