As India and Pakistan celebrated their 77th Independence Day on August 15th and 14th, respectively, a video of people chanting pro-PM Modi slogans and waving the Indian flag is going viral on social media. While sharing the video, people on social media claimed that the Indian flag was hoisted by the Baloch community in Pakistan during the celebration of Pakistan’s Independence Day.
A Facebook user shared this video and wrote, “Baloch people in Pakistan-occupied Balochistan celebrated Pakistan’s Independence Day by hoisting the Indian flag and raising slogans, Modi go ahead, step up, Modi ji, we are with you… And on the occasion of 15th August, greeted the citizens of India.”

Performing a keyword search on Google, the NewsMobile team traced multiple video reports with similar visuals. According to the report by India TV dated August 27, 2016, overseas Baloch protesters raised slogans against Pakistan in Germany. The report stated that Baluch people also waved the Indian flag and thanked PM Narendra Modi to support Balochistan’s freedom movement.
According to the report by Navbharat Times dated August 28, 2016, the incident took place in Leipzig city of Germany. The people of the exiled Baloch community had organized a rally in Leipzig.
