FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checkers found the news to be untrue as Heath Streak is ‘very much alive’.
Going through Henry Olonga’s ‘X’ account, we found another post in which he denied the news about Streak’s death. In the X post dated August 23, 2023, at 10:27 AM (IST), Olonga shared a screenshot of his WhatsApp chat with Heath Streak where he himself confirmed that he is ‘very much alive’.
I can confirm that rumours of the demise of Heath Streak have been greatly exaggerated. I just heard from him. The third umpire has called him back. He is very much alive folks. pic.twitter.com/LQs6bcjWSB

Digging further, we also found a report by Mid-Day dated August 23, 2023, in which former Zimbabwe captain, Streak himself falsified the news of his death, saying he is alive and well.
“It is a total rumour and a lie. I’m alive and well. I am very upset to learn that something as big as someone apparently passing can be spread unverified, especially in our day and age of social media”, Streak was quoted as saying by Mid-Day. “I believe the source should apologise. I am hurt by the news,” he added.
Hence, with the above findings, we can conclusively say that the news of Heath Streak’s demise is false and he is alive.
