FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.
Running a Reverse Image Search, our team spotted the same images in a post by WION, dated August 23, 2023, with a title: “How Earth will look from the moon after Chandrayaan-3 lands?”
It should also be noted that the time of the post is 11:08 am, whereas the Chandrayaan-3 made a successful soft landing on the Moon at 6.03 pm IST on August 23, 2023.
We also spotted some of the stunning photos — imagining Earth as seen from the Lunar surface — created by Artificial Intelligence.
The ISRO website and social media have shared images of the moon while landing and also some images of the rover. However, no images of the Earth from the moon were shared by ISRO. The posts can be seen here and here.
NewsMobile couldn’t trace the origin of the viral images, but is it clear that they were generated by AI. Hence, the post is misleading.
