Rohan Gavaskar, former Indian cricketer and son of Sunil Gavaskar, refuted the viral claim that his father had made any such statement to NDTV criticising the BCCI. This clarification was posted by Gavaskar on X on September 4, 2023, with the tweet text: “This is a completely fabricated statement attributed to my father. He hasn’t made this statement and someone is just trying to create mischief. It’s absolutely ridiculous that people would use his name to get more engagement. Please retweet so that the truth prevails”.
Rohan Gavaskar further highlighted that Sunil Gavaskar, in his role as a commentator, is under contract with India Today and would not provide statements to NDTV.
