FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be false.

Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team traced a Facebook post on the official page of El Nuevo Sur — a Columbian newspaper, dated October 18, 2022.

The video looks like an extended version of the viral clip and the caption of the post informs that the video shows visuals from Venezuela floods, due to the overflow of  Palmarito River in Maracaibo, Aragua State.

Searching further, we found an Instagram post on the official channel of Noticias Barquisimeto — a Venezuelan digital news outlet, dated October 17, 2022. This video, too, shows a few keyframes from the viral clip, confirming that it is visuals of Venezuela flood.

The news agency Reuters, too, recently debunked the viral claim and clarified that the viral video was from Venezuela.

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video is fabricated.
