Colombo: Following an impressive batting display by Virat Kohli and KL Rahul, Kuldeep Yadav’s five-wicket haul led India to a 228-run victory over Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2023 Super Four clash at R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Monday.
This marked India’s biggest victory against Pakistan in ODI history, securing a commanding 228-run win. With this win, India also claimed the top position in the Asia Cup super four table.
Kuldeep Yadav claimed a five-wicket haul, dismissing Agha Salman, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Fakhar Zaman, and Faheem Ashraf. Meanwhile, Jasprit Bumrah, Hardik Pandya, and Shardul Thakur each took one wicket.
Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf didn’t come out to bat in Pakistan’s chase due to their injuries.
India displayed a stellar all-around performance, applying consistent pressure on the Pakistan team in both innings. Pakistan struggled to score against both swing and spin bowlers, ultimately getting all out for a low total of 128.
