New Delhi: The remarkable streak of the Indian contingent in shooting at the current Asian Games in Hangzhou persists, with 17-year-old Palak claiming a gold medal and 18-year-old Palak, Esha Singh Claim Gold And Silver Ahead Of Pakistan Shooter; India Bags Five Medals On Day 6 securing silver in the 10m air pistol women’s individual final on Friday. Palak, achieving an impressive individual score of 242.1 points, not only clinched the gold but also set a new Asian Games record in her category, surpassing China’s previous record from 2018.

Esha secured the silver with a total of 239.7 points, extending her impressive performance as a shooter in Hangzhou and marking her fourth medal in these games. Consequently, India’s shooting medal count in Hangzhou has reached 17. Overall, India has now amassed a total of 30 medals at the ongoing Asian Games, comprising eight gold, 11 silver, and 11 bronze medals.

Earlier, the men’s trio comprising Swapnil Kusal, Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, and Akhil Sheoran captured the gold medal in the 50m rifle men’s 3P event on Friday. Team India secured the top spot with an impressive score of 1769 points. The silver medal was claimed with a score of 1763 points, while South Korea took home the bronze with 1748 points. India’s outstanding performance not only earned them the gold but also saw them surpass the world record of 1761 points held by the USA since the last year.

In a prior event, the shooting trio comprised of Esha Singh, Palak, and Divya Subbaraju extended India’s impressive performance in shooting, clinching a silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle pistol team final at the ongoing Asian Games on Friday. India accumulated a total of 1731 points, securing the silver position, a mere five points short of the gold claimed by China with 1736 points. Chinese Taipei secured the bronze medal with a total of 1723 points.

On Thursday, Sarabjot Singh, Shiva Narwal, and Arjun Singh Cheema secured yet another gold medal for India in the Men’s 10m Air Pistol Team event at the Hangzhou Asian Games. The event witnessed a comeback from Sarabjot Singh, who qualified in fifth place for the individual event final. Arjun Singh Cheema also qualified for the final in the 8th position. While Shiva Narwal did not qualify for the individual final, finishing 14th, the combined score of the Indian team proved sufficient to narrowly surpass China by one point, clinching the gold.

With a total of 1734 points, the Indian team claimed the gold medal, while China secured the second position with 1733 points, and Vietnam secured the bronze with a total of 1730 points.
