Amid the ongoing tension between India and Canada, a notice, supposedly issued by Sri Harmandir Sahib (the Golden Temple in Amritsar) has gone viral on the internet.
The notice condemns terrorism by Babbar Khalsa International and other organizations and urges all international gurudwaras to immediately stop supporting any anti-India movement.

We ran a keyword search but did not find any credible reports to corroborate the viral notice.
We also checked the official website and social media handles ( Facebook, X) of the committee that manages the Golden Temple, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC), but did not find any such notice.
We then reached out to the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandak Committee (SGPC) who denied the viral claim and said that the notice was fake.
Moreover, we found a tweet dated September 25, 2023, where the SGPC executive passed a special resolution on the India-Canada issue.

The resolution also condemned the hate propaganda being spread against Sikhs and Punjab and urged the Government of India to ‘take this issue seriously and take action against those who tarnish the image of Sikhs’.
