Set in the southern-eastern part of the Bay of Bengal, the group of Islands of Andaman is the focal point of Amit Golani and Sameer Saxena’s co-directed survival drama series Kaala Paani (2023).
The highly anticipated suspenseful drama series, which boasts an exceptional cast including the talented Mona Singh, the renowned filmmaker Ashutosh Gowarikar, and the versatile Amey Wagh, alongside other brilliant actors, is set to make its grand debut on 18th October 2023, exclusively on Netflix.

With over 5.5 million users in India, Netflix has announced the first survival drama series Kaala Paani with its the title alluding to its colonial-era cellular jail and being utilised as a personification for the islands’ isolating characteristics.
Andaman and Nicobar Islands’ are one of India’s union territories known for its lush forests, pristine beaches and is an archipelago consisting of around 572 islands, islets, and rocks with its capital Port Blair serving as a reminder for its British-colonial past.
