As the ICC World Cup 2023 is underway in India, all the matches throughout the tournament will take place through the length and breadth of the country in 10 different Indian cities including Lucknow, Ahmedabad, Pune, Dharamshala, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, and Mumbai.

Given the craze and the love that people have for cricket from across the globe, it is for sure that these cities will attract a lot of tourists throughout the tournament.

For all those who will be attending the WC matches supposed to take place in Lucknow, we bring to you a well-curated list of must-visit places and must-try foods of the city.

To begin with, the matches scheduled to take place in Lucknow, will be held at the Ekana Cricket Stadium. It is located in Lucknow’s Gomti Nagar Extension.

Lucknow also known as the ‘City of Nawabs’, is home to various architectural wonders and historical monuments and for sure is a hub of cultures.

Bara Imambara: It is an architectural wonder of Lucknow. It’s a mix of Rajput, Islamic and Gothic Architecture, which is why it has become a must visit historical attraction of the city.

Chota Imambara: It is also called the ‘Palace of Lights’, as the monument has a lot stunning chandeliers and decorations. It is one of the most magnificent constructions in Lucknow.

Dr. Ambedkar Park: It is a public park and memorial. The park honours the life and memories of Jyotirao Phule, Narayan Guru, Birsa Munda, Shahuji Maharaj, Bhimrao Ambedkar, Kanshi Ram, etc. It also has 124 monumental elephants.

Chattar Manzil: It is a perfect sightseeing attraction in Lucknow. It is a historic monument and is also known as Umbrella Palace.

Must Try Food

Lucknow offers a mix Awadhi and Mughlai cuisine. It is a paradise for food lovers, as the aromas and the local delicacies have been perfected over generations.

Kebabs: Their texture, the spices used to cook them over a charcoal fire is a culinary finesse.

Kulfi Faluda: For people with a sweet tooth, this one is a must try. The kulfi is made using milk and few nuts and is served with faluda over it.

Khasta Kachoris: It is the favourite breakfast of people in Lucknow. This particular street food has it’s own share of popularity which makes it a must try.

Sheermal: A must try item from Awadhi cuisine. It is basically sweet naan, mostly served with spicy curries.
