Performing a Reverse Image Search, our team identified a Twitter handle carrying the same viral video, dated January 5, 2020, with a caption: “Members of Iran’s parliament chants “Death to America”.
Also, a news bulletin on CNN’s official YouTube channel from that time features footage of the protest by Iranian lawmakers following the death of Iranian military officer Qasem Soleimani in Iraq.
On January 3, 2020, the international news agency Reuters published a report stating, “Iran pledged retaliation following the US air strike in Baghdad, which resulted in the death of Qasem Soleimani, Tehran’s most prominent military leader and the mastermind behind its expanding influence in the Middle East. Soleimani, a 62-year-old general who led the foreign operations of the Revolutionary Guards, was considered the second most influential figure after Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.”
