New Delhi: Two separate explosions occurred at fireworks factories in Virudhunagar district, Tamil Nadu, on Tuesday leading to death of nine people, as per the police.
Authorities deployed police and fire department personnel to quell the blaze.
A senior police official while speaking to media said, “Seven bodies, severely burnt, were found following the unexpected explosion at the Sivakasi fireworks unit, and their identities are still to be determined.”

Seven people died in the explosion at the Sivakasi fireworks factory, while two others died in a distinct fire incident at the fireworks facility in Kammapatti village.
