New Delhi: India maintained their undefeated streak in the ICC World Cup 2023 with a convincing 7-wicket victory against Bangladesh in Match 17 at Pune’s MCA stadium on Thursday.
Virat Kohli scored 103 not out, marking his 48th ODI century and steering India to a seven-wicket victory against Bangladesh in Pune.
Chasing a below-par 257 for victory, the Men in Blue raced to victory inside 42 overs thanks to powerful performances from Virat Kohli (103*), Shubman Gill (53) and captain Rohit Sharma (48).
Earlier in the day, India, choosing to bowl first in Pune, limited Bangladesh to a score of 256 for 8. Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shardul Thakur secured a couple of wickets each, while Kuldeep Yadav and Shardul Thakur contributed with one wicket each for India.
Litton Das led the scoring for the visiting team with 66 runs, while opener Tanzid Hasan contributed 51. In the experienced middle-order, Mahmudullah and Mushfiqur Rahim added 46 and 38 runs, respectively, for the visitors.
