New Delhi: The Congress on Saturday revealed its first list of 33 candidates slated to contest the forthcoming Rajasthan Assembly elections.
CM Ashok Gehlot has been confirmed as the candidate for the Sardarpura constituency, while Sachin Pilot will be making his electoral bid from the Tonk constituency.
Rajasthan Congress Committee President, Govind Singh Dotasra, will run in Lachhmangarh, and Assembly Speaker CP Joshi in Nathdwara. Congress has also chosen Divya Maderna for Osian and Ashok Chandna for Hindoli, solidifying their election lineup.
Earlier, the Bharatiya Janata Party released its second list of 83 candidates today after announcing the first list of 41 candidates for the elections.
The BJP’s second list has former Chief Minister Vasundhra Raje, who will contest from Jhalrapatan, senior BJP leader Rajendra Rathore is also in the fray from Taranagar.
The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced on October 9 that the Rajasthan Assembly polls are scheduled to be held on November 25. The counting of votes will be done on December 3.
Polls will be held in Mizoram on November 7, Chhattisgarh on November 7 and November 17, Madhya Pradesh on November 17, Rajasthan on November 25, and Telangana on November 30.
