New Delhi: An earthquake of magnitude 6.1 struck Nepal on Sunday morning, said the National Seismological Centre of Nepal. The earthquake’s epicenter was identified in Dhading, situated approximately 55 kilometers west of the capital, Kathmandu.
The European Mediterranean Seismological Centre reported that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 13 kilometers.
No casualties or damages were reported in the aftermath of the tremor. The seismic impact was also felt in additional districts within Bagmati and Gandaki provinces.
The seismic vibrations from the earthquake were also experienced in the Delhi-NCR region.
According to the post-disaster needs assessment (PDNA) report from the government, Nepal ranks as the 11th most earthquake-prone country globally.
