New Delhi: Afghanistan caused another upset in the ICC World Cup 2023 on Monday by defeating Pakistan with 8 wickets, keeping their tournament campaign alive.
Chasing a challenging target of 283 for victory, Afghanistan secured their maiden ODI win against Pakistan, breaking a streak of 7 unsuccessful attempts in the past, thanks to outstanding batting displays by Ibrahim Zadran, Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Rahmat Shah, and Hashmatullah Shahidi.
Zadran led the scoring with 87 runs, while Shah and Shahidi concluded unbeaten at 77 and 48 respectively. Gurbaz played a significant role in the victory, contributing a rapid 65 off 53 balls.
