Wagh Bakri Tea Group Executive Director Passes Away At 49

New Delhi: Wagh Bakri Tea Group’s Executive Director, Parag Desai, tragically passed away at the age of 49. He suffered a brain haemorrhage after a fall last week, and died in the hospital on Sunday. “With profound grief, we regret to inform the sad demise of our beloved Parag Desai,” the company said in an Instagram post.

According to the reports, Desai was admitted to the hospital last week after he fell outside his residence and suffered a brain haemorrhage on October 15 when he was trying to escape street dogs that had attacked him. A security guard alerted the family and he was rushed to the Shelby Hospital for medical attention. He was later shifted to Zydus Hospital for critical surgery.

However, he passed away in Ahmedabad on October 22 after being on a ventilator for seven days. His last rites were conducted at the Thaltej crematorium at 9 a.m. today.

Parag Desai had held a significant role within the Wagh Bakri Tea Group, serving as one of the two executive directors on the board. His leadership played a pivotal role in the transformation of the company, particularly in the expansion of their business into the realms of tea lounges and e-commerce.
