Running the keyframes of the video through Reverse Image Search, our team found the same video on a YouTube channel Solo Catecumenos, dated August 2023, with a title: “This is how the million and a half young people spent the night in #Lisbon #Lisbon2023 #WYD2023.” As per its caption, the video is related to World Youth Day.
According to a report by France 24 — a French state-owned international news television network based in Paris, dated August 6, 2023, over 1.5 million people gathered at Tejo Park in Lisbon on August 5 to participate in World Youth Day presided over by Pope Francis. The event lasted from August 1 to 6, with young Catholics from around the world arriving on August 5, planning to spend the night until the final mass on Sunday. The Pope made his appearance in the ‘Popemobile’ shortly after 19:00 GMT for this prayer vigil that resembled a giant festival. Also, similar visuals related to this event in its video report shows attendees sleeping in the open at Tejo Park.
Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral video is from World Youth Day event which took place in Lisbon, NOT Gaza.
