New Delhi: A candidate running independently for the Burhanpur assembly seat gained attention as he arrived on a donkey to file his nomination at the tehsil office.
“I rode a donkey while submitting my nomination form because politicians are making a fool of people,” said independent candidate Priyank Singh Thakur while speaking to media.
Thakur, who initially sought BJP’s ticket for the Burhanpur assembly seat, decided to run independently after being denied. He criticized a few influential families in Burhanpur for manipulating development for their benefit.
Thakur, disappointed by BJP’s decision, said that voters shouldn’t be fooled by these influential families. His unique campaign included addressing issues like development, poverty, and exposing corruption among senior politicians from both BJP and Congress.
