Amid the ongoing war between Israel and Hamas, a video is being widely shared on social media showing people lying on the ground, wrapped in shrouds and after some time, some of the ‘dead bodies’ can be seen moving.
The video is shared with a caption: अलजजीरा ने कमाल की शूटिंग की है हमास का मुर्दा भी खुजली कर रहा है कैमरे की गर्मी के कारण…!ये इजरायल कर क्या रहा है जो मुर्दे भी खुजा रहे है (English translation: Al Jazeera has done amazing shooting, even the dead bodies of Hamas are itching due to the heat of the camera…! What is Israel doing that even the dead are itching?)

While checking for related posts on Facebook, our team identified the same video shared by multiple users in 2018, with a similar claim. The links can be seen here and here.
As per the visual description, it was a “failed acting performance of the bodies inside Al-Azhar University”. We found the same video on the YouTube channel of El Badil, an Egyptian news outlet, with a title: Egyptian students protesting by pretending to be dead.
“A representative presentation of the bodies inside Al-Azhar University,” it said.
The video description reads: “Dozens of Muslim Brotherhood students at Al-Azhar University organised a mass demonstration in front of the college administration building…” More videos of the protests on El Badil’s YouTube Channel were also found.
Hence, it is clear that a 2013 video from Egypt has gone viral with false claims.
