Matthew Perry’s Autopsy Completed, Examiner Seeks Additional Investigation

Date:

New Delhi: The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on Sunday released its initial report on actor Matthew Perry, who died at the age of 54 on Saturday. The report suggested that the autopsy of the star of the famous sitcom “Friends” had been completed. However, the medical examiner thinks they need to look more into the details surrounding the death.

The online record for Perry was revised by the medical examiner, marking the cause of death as “deferred.”

As per the guidelines of the Los Angeles coroner, when the cause of death cannot be determined during the autopsy, a “deferred” certificate is issued, awaiting the completion of additional studies.

The online records from the medical examiner also stated that the actor’s body was prepared for release to his family.

Matthew died on Saturday after apparently drowning in a hot tub. The actor, who held both American and Canadian citizenship, was found unconscious in a jacuzzi at his Los Angeles home.

Matthew Perry was best known for his role as Chandler in the highly popular sitcom “Friends,” which enjoyed a successful run spanning 10 seasons from 1994 to 2004. The American television series featured a stellar cast, including Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Lisa Kudrow.
