The conflict between Israel and Hamas has so far resulted in over 1,700 reported casualties in Israel, and nearly 7,000 in Gaza. Meanwhile, a video showing soldiers throwing stun grenades at women inside a mosque is going viral on social media. Many people on social media claim that Israeli forces attacked inside the mosque.

NewMobile fact-checked the above claim, and found it to be Misleading.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, the NM team found the same visual in a tweet by TRT World, dated May 10, 2021, with a caption: “Israeli soldiers were seen throwing stun grenades at women inside Al Aqsa Mosque as they stormed the third holiest site for Muslims to disperse Palestinians.”

However, our team traced several video reports carrying the same visuals. The title of the video reads: “Israeli forces attack Palestinian women inside Al-Aqsa Mosque.” As per the description, Israeli police fired stun grenades directly at women inside al-Aqsa Mosque as they raided the complex.
According to the report of The Guardian, dated May 2021, more than 330 Palestinians were injured after the Israeli police entered the Aqsa mosque compound in Jerusalem. The police fired rubber-tipped bullets and stun grenades, while Palestinians threw rocks at officers. This came after protests by Palestinians over eviction from their homes in Sheikh Jarrah, East Jerusalem by Jewish settlers.
Thus, it is confirmed that the 2021 video has gone viral falsely linking it to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict.
