FACT CHECK

NewsMobile fact-checked the post, and found it to be false.

Putting the video keyframes through a Reverse Image Search, our team spotted a screengrab of the same video in a report by TRT World, dated April 28, 2022. The headline of the article reads: Assad regime executed dozens of civilians in Syria’s Tadamon, video shows.

We found a similar report by The Guardian, dated April 27, 2022, saying that the video shows Bashar al-Assad’s men killing civilians. According to the article, the video date stamp reads April 16, 2013, showing at least 41 men in the mass grave in the Damascus suburb of Tadamon.

A similar report was also published by New Lines Magazine, which verified the authenticity of the video. According to the report, the video was leaked to researchers Annsar Shahhoud and Uğur Ümit Üngör in 2019.
Thus, based on the above fact check, it is clear that an old video from Syria is being shared with a false claim.
