Running a Google Keyword Search of the viral image, our team identified a tweet on the official handles of ICC and BCCI, dated November 1, 2023. The images in the tweet match with the viral image, and the caption informs that it was Sachin Tendulkar’s statue unveiled at the Wankhede Stadium.

The unveiling ceremony of the statue was also published on the official website of the BCCI, and shared by Tendulkar himself on his X handle. The event had also been covered by multiple news outlets like India Today and Hindustan Times

Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post’s claim that Steve Smith’s statue was recently unveiled at the Wankhede stadium is fake.
