World Cup 2023: India Win Toss And Opt To Bat First Against Netherlands

Date:

Bengaluru: Indian skipper Rohit Sharma won the toss and elected to bat first against the Netherlands at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday. This will be India’s last league match before the semi-finals at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai against New Zealand on November 15.

“We are gonna have a bat. No particular reason. Whether we have batted first or bowled first, we have done extremely well. Another opportunity to play well today and tick all the boxes. Extremely happy with how we have played in this tournament. Hats off to the guys who have stood up at different times and taken the responsibility. Same team,” Rohit Sharma said at the toss event.

The Dutch, demonstrating strong intent in the tournament, have caused upsets against top teams like South Africa and Bangladesh. They will aim to secure another upset, concluding their tournament on a positive note and qualifying for the Champions Trophy 2025. India, on the other hand, will look to maintain their winning momentum before the big game against the Kiwis.
