Mumbai: A man was arrested in Mumbai for allegedly participating in the unlawful sale of tickets for the World Cup semi-final between India and New Zealand.
Police said that Roshan Gurubakshani was caught in Mumbai trying to sell World Cup semi-final tickets for Rs 1,20,000 each. They seized two tickets from him, and a case has been registered against Gurubakshani and another person. Authorities are now searching for the second accused connected to the alleged ticket black marketing.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in Mumbai, Pravin Mundhe, has asked cricket fans to remain careful when purchasing tickets for the World Cup match.
Mundhe also advised them to arrive at the stadium early on Wednesday, considering security protocols.
India is set to face New Zealand in the inaugural semi-final of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 tomorrow at Mumbai’s Wankhede Stadium.
