FACT CHECK
NewsMobile fact-checked the viral post, and found it to be misleading.
Running a Reverse Image Search of the video keyframes, our team identified a tweet on the official handle of ANI, dated December 25, 2021, carrying a clip that matches with the viral video. Its caption, too, confirms that Singh said all these things in 2021.
Another YouTube video on the official channel of Live Hindustan, dated December 26, 2021, with a title: ऐसे भी हिंदू हैं, जो गोमांस खाते हैं – दिग्विजय सिंह (English: There are Hindus who eat beef – Digvijay Singh) — starting at 1:08 — also matches with the viral clip, confirming that he gave this speech in 2021.
We could not find any such clip of Digvijaya Singh amidst the ongoing election rallies for the Madhya Pradesh elections. Therefore, we can conclusively say that the viral post, claiming Digvijay Singh quoted Savarkar’s book and supported beef consumption ahead of the upcoming Madhya Pradesh elections, is misleading.
